The NSW Telco Authority has announced a request for tender (RFT) to choose a new managed network provider for the NSW government radio network.

The government radio network is managed by the NSW Telco Authority on behalf of the NSW Government.

Managing Director of NSW Telco Authority Kate Foy said the agency is on the hunt for a managed network provider to manage, operate and maintain the enhanced network into the future.

large_Kate Foy_0“Through the Critical Communications Enhancement Program, the government radio network will grow from 180 to approximately 700 sites across metropolitan and regional NSW when complete,” Foy said.

“The expanded network will deliver world-class critical communications services to our public safety and law enforcement agencies well into the future. With an expansion of this size, we need to ensure service delivery remains at the highest standard.”

The RFT will ask industry to provide a detailed response on how they will manage the network, including systems and innovative ideas for the long-term operation and maintenance of the expanded network.

All industry players are encouraged to attend the industry briefing that we will be held in mid-May and will provide the relevant background about the Operate and Maintain Program.

The RFT opens on 6 May 2019 and closes on 17 June 2019.
