NBN Co has appointed Philip Knox as its next Chief Financial Officer, with his new role taking effect on 6 February.

Knox joins NBN Co with over thirty years of financial experience, having most recently served as CFO at APN Outdoor.  He has also held CFO roles at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and Austar; from his time at Austar, he has extensive experience in delivering telecommunications services across regional and remote Australia.

NBN CO CEO Stephen Rue said Knox joins at the same time that nearly three in four Australians can now connect to the national broadband network.

“I am delighted to welcome Phil to NBN Co at such an exciting stage of the rollout.  Phil is an accomplished financial executive with extensive experience across the technology and media industries,” Rue said. “Phil has an outstanding track record of delivery and hands-on experience across key financial disciplines that will be critical in the final twoyears of the rollout”

The appointment follows an extensive global recruitment process undertaken by an executive search firm following Stephen Rue’s appointment as Chief Executive in August 2018.
