Canberra based cybersecurity firm Penten – which launched in 2014  – has been named Telstra’s 2018 Australian Business of the Year during an awards ceremony in Melbourne.

 

Telstra CEO Andy Penn congratulated the winner, adding “cyber security has never been more critical.”

Penten specialises in advancing innovation in secure mobility, cyber deception and cyber engineering services. Its AltoCrypt suite of secure mobility services are enabling mobile secure access to classified information for government.

The firm’s deception.ai business unit uses machine learning to create realistic decoys to detect and track sophisticated cyber adversaries. Its PentenLabs division aims to create new cyber technologies and products which can take on cyber challenges that haven’t yet been solved anywhere globally.
