Boston-based developer-owner-operator of subsea fibre optic cable systems Seaborn Networks has appointed David Zimmer as its chief sales officer and Jim Olson as VP of corporate development
As Seaborn’s new CSO, Zimmer will be responsible for all of the firm’s direct sales, channel strategies and inside sales. He will also join Seaborn’s board of directors. Zimmer most recently served as SVP - Carrier Services Business Unit for Earthlink, which was acquired by Windstream.
Prior to that, he served a 13-year stint at Level 3 Communications - now CenturyLink - culminating in his role as sales VP - Wholesale Markets. “During his more than 27 years of network services sales experience, Dave has led large sales organizations with a primary focus on wholesale markets, including in the US, Latin America, Asia-Pac and rest of world,” said Seaborn Networks.
Jim Olson, meanwhile, will focus on Seaborn’s portfolio of new-build opportunities, including ARBR (Argentina to Brazil; RFS H1 2019), SABR (South Africa - Brazil; RFS H1 2020), and Seabras-1 branches for Virginia Beach, Miami, USVI/BVI, Fortaleza and Brazil South.
“Both of these new appointments are critical building blocks as Seaborn continues to ramp up its sales organization,’ commented Seaborn Networks CEO and Chairman Larry Schwartz.
