Huawei unveils new 5G-focused SingleRAN Pro

Huawei has released its 5G-oriented single radio access network, just ahead of the firm’s Global Analyst Summit.

Dubbed SingleRAN Pro, the technology allows mobile telecommunications operators to support multiple mobile communications standards and wireless telephone services on a single network.

The new offering features three stand out capabilities: 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G on one network, an agile architecture for diverse services, and an automatic intelligent management system. “The purpose is to help operators tackle the challenges of the 5G era, and build a fully connected, intelligent digital world,” said Huawei.

The Shenzhen-based company said the mobile broadband (MBB) industry was facing profound changes in the lead-up to 5G. “The release of MBB traffic has created a positive business cycle for the industry, allowing operators to find favorable business models for new rounds of growth [while] the rise of the Internet of Things is creating hundreds of billions of new connections,” it said.

“Meanwhile, MBB-network-empowered sectors such as the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) and VR/AR are experiencing structural changes, offering infinite opportunities for growth nd new services,” added Huawei.
