Polycom ramps up APAC customer experience drive

Polycom  is stepping up its Asia-Pacific customer experience strategy, with the promotion of Andrew Hug to the role of area sales vice president, systems engineers, APAC and EMEA.

Hug will spearhead the drive creating a customer-focused strategy that combines securing customer insights and analysis, applying international best practices for product innovation, and facilitating more agile cross-company technical knowledge-sharing.

Reporting directly to Marco Landi, senior vice president, Asia Pacific, Africa and Europe SVP Marco Landi, within Australia and New Zealand, Hug will work closely with Polycom ANZ, Japan and Korea VP Tony Simonsen to identfiy ANZ regional customer needs.

Hug is a seasoned industry veteran with extensive experience in the unified communications industry. At Polycom, he was previously responsible for the technical sales consulting and demonstration facilities group across EMEA. Prior to this he helped establish Polycom’s technical sales consulting function in China, Hong Kong and Singapore and was also involved in staff recruitment, customer engagement and partner advisory for the service providers. He joined the company in 2001 from Accord where he was the support director covering EMEA and APAC, and was responsible for both pre- and post-sales support.
