Motorola Solutions has announced the completion of its acquisition of Plant Holdings, which holds the Airbus DS Communications business, from Airbus Defense and Space, an indirect subsidiary of Airbus SE. It billed DS Communications as a key provider in North America of command center software for emergency call-handling. "The company’s VESTA suite is a comprehensive 911 call-handling service, operating on a flexible, open software architecture," said Cisco. "It also delivers text-to-911, mapping, data management and analytics, providing customers a comprehensive transition strategy from legacy systems to a standards-based, unified Next-Generation 911 system." Motorola Solutions said the acquisition of Airbus DS Communications bolstered its own command center software portfolio as well as its Software Enterprise. Airbus DS Communications is headquartered in Temecula, California. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
